Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Certified in the state of Oklahoma with appropriate endorsements to teach at the elementary level.
Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience preferred, particularly in elementary education.
Proven ability to implement differentiated instruction and use data-driven strategies to elevate student achievement.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prepare and execute lesson plans well in advance and manage classroom dynamics efficiently.
Demonstrated ability to connect with students individually while fostering a collaborative classroom environment.
Passionate about Christian education, with the ability to teach and model Lutheran doctrine and integrate faith into all aspects of teaching and learning.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage parents as active partners in their child’s educational journey.
Tech-savvy, with proficiency in educational technology tools for virtual learning, classroom management, and instructional delivery.

Position Overview:

The Lower Elementary Instructional Support Specialist will collaborate with the lead teacher to create a positive, structured, and nurturing learning environment. This role is key to promoting student growth by supporting academic instruction, classroom management, and emotional development.

• Support the implementation of engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with developmental goals.

• Provide individualized or small-group instructional support to reinforce key learning concepts.

Skills and Abilities:

Understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment
Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies

Reports to: Principal / Facilities Manager

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Cleaning

Develop and maintain a cleaning schedule that will include cleaning of floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms.
Keep school building and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas neat and clean.
Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and order additional supplies as needed.

Maintenance and Repair

Maintain a program of preventive maintenance to ensure the comfort, health, and safety of students and staff.
Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide appropriate temperatures and ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity.
Make minor building repairs as needed and report major repair needs to principal.
Move furniture or equipment within building as directed by principal.

Safety

Assume responsibility for opening the building each school day.
Establish procedure for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.
Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable.

Demands/Physical/Environmental Factors:

Tools/Equipment Used: Buffer, stripper, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, electric drill, shampooer.
Motion: walking (climbing stairs)
Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying up to sixty pounds.
Environment: Work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders.
Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
